On Tuesday, October 11th, Dr.. Haider Mullick, Georgetown University, will lead a discussion with MA students of UL FSS about social media and disinformation.

The discussion will focus on two themes:

  1. Best practices/success stories of assessing social media engagements in government and business,
  2. Combating dis/misinformation on the internet (impacting governments, political groups, businesses, corporations, rebel groups, etc.)

Dr. Mullick also teaches international relations and national security at Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service and the McCourt School of Public Policy. His writings on foreign policy and international security have appeared in the New York Times, Foreign Affairs, Washington Post, Newsweek, Washington Quarterly, American Interest, Yale Global, Newsweek, World Politics Review, and The Diplomat among others. He has appeared as a National Security expert on CNN, BBC, PBS, MSNBC, NPR, ITN, Al Jazeera, among others.

He has a BA in Economics from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, an MA in National Security from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service, and a PhD in International Relations from Tufts University’s Fletcher School. Mullick is fluent in three DoD critical languages
