Steven Van Hecke. Viņš ir politologs un asociētais profesors KU Lēvenes Sabiedriskās pārvaldības institūta (Sociālo zinātņu fakultāte) Salīdzinošās un ES politikas nodaļā.

Asoc. prof. Steven Van Hecke biogrāfija angļu valodā (kuleuven.be):

Steven Van Hecke is a political scientist and associate professor in Comparative and EU Politics at the KU Leuven Public Governance Institute (Faculty of Social Sciences). From February until April 2022 Steven Van Hecke was a senior research fellow at the Leibniz-Institut für Europäische Geschichte in Mainz. Since 1 July 2022 he is a non-resident visiting fellow at the European Parliament Research Service.

Research

Steven Van Hecke his research agenda is at the intersection of comparative politics, EU studies and political history. His publications focus on the following topics:

  • European political parties and foundations
  • EU institutions
  • European integration history

Recently he published about Covid-19 and crisis management in the EU. Together with Mathieu Segers (Maastricht University) he is currently editing the Cambridge History of the European Union.

Teaching

For the moment (academic year 2021-2022) Steven Van Hecke teaches the following courses (in Dutch):

  • Electoral and political systems
  • European integration since 1945
  • Current Topics in Political Science

Service

Steven Van Hecke is chairman of the KU Leuven Wilfried Martens Fund and the Fund involvEU.
From October 2017 until September 2021 he was president of KADOC.
He regularly comments on current EU affairs in the Flemish media. He is also active on TwitterFacebook and LinkedIn.
